Weather impact statement for 6-23-23

As of 6 a.m. there is significant storm related activity coming up the coastline from Florida.  The current storm at present should be gone by 8 a.m. and then there will be a ‘break’ according to future radar and at that time we will review what radar looks like and then make the decision to setup or not setup.  Future radar as of 6:15 a.m. is showing all this activity still with us until the noon hour.  We need you to understand, and we explain this is our policies online, that it takes us approximately 2 hours to get everyone set up and we are not going to put kids out on the beach with any lightening activity for the sake of an umbrella.  Sometimes the beach is what it is, the beach and with the beach comes all sorts of weather.  Last week it was winds and I mean craxy amounts of winds, 25 mph winds with gusts to 30 and it was a nightmare for everyone involved, not just companies but for everyone on the beach.  Sometimes it’s not the perfect day for beach activity.  That being said, we have a limitation on when we can set up as we aren’t going to set up past noon, as half the day is gone.

We will be making a decision after the 8 a.m. hour and you will be texted, please read the texts as that is our lifeline to you as we don’t want many of you loading up at the first break of rain and going down from way back off the island and walk 10 to 15 minutes only to get to the beach and your stuff not be setup.
